XpressJobs premiered yet another Job Fair last weekend in collaboration with the Ruwan Wijayawardana Foundation. Held from 9am to 3pm at Makola Sapugaskanda Maha Vidyalaya, the Job Fair attracted over 1000 candidates from all over the island, 400 of whom were called for second interviews and provided with contracts of employment on the spot.

XpressJobs is a start up that was launched in November 2015 to fill a vacuum between jobseekers and employers, was pioneered by Mr. Chathum Henegama and Dr. Oshadie Korale (PhD). The website is primarily meant to provide a relevant platform for job seekers to connect with companies that require staff in a quick and effective manner.

The online portal has a huge following among many blue chip corporates as well as job-seekers and this job fair was just another testimony of the popularity of their services, which are proffered free of charge to candidates looking for suitable positions.

There was a great representation of the corporate sector at the Job Fair, and it was wonderful to see so many different industries and sectors represented with companies such as Keells Super, Union Bank of Colombo PLC, Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka, Asia Bike Industrial Limited, Triumph International Lanka, Gajamuthu Foods (Pvt) Ltd, Asiri Group of Hospitals, Aegis Services Lanka Pvt Ltd, Southern Spars International (Pvt) Ltd, HNB Assurance PLC, Goliath Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Domino’s Sri Lanka and Intelligent Image Management Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.

“We are more than confident that we can help attract the right candidates for the job. Your job advert is not only viewed by over 30,000 registered candidates and over 70,000 jobseekers on our social media groups, we also facilitate their interviews and help them to present themselves to the right sectors. This kind of support helps them so much when it comes to facing interviews and gives many of them opportunities to work for good companies that they might not have had otherwise.” stated Dr. Oshadie Korale.
